WHAT IS PRIVATE BEEKEEPING SERVICE?

Private Beekeeping Service is an opportunity to experience the wonder of bees in your yard or neighborhood, connect with nature, and improve the health and wellness of honeybees in your community. We manage the bees, you enjoy them!

When you sign up, Camas HoneyBee Co will work closely with you to determine the best location to place a honeybee colony on your property, prepare the site, and schedule a colony installation day.

On Installation day, we encourage all interested family, friends, and neighbors to join the fun as we bring a small bee colony to the site. Oh, and we'll have extra bee suits for those who want to be right up on the fun. You'll learn all about your new pollinators, the progression of their growth through the season, and the management that we will be doing to keep them healthy and thriving.

The colony installed will be a small split from one of our current colonies. It will start in a relatively small looking beehive called a "nuc" and progressively get larger with each following inspection. Chris, from Camas HoneyBee Co will then visit the colony about once a month (depending on the season) to manage those hard working ladies (yep, all the workers are female).

You then get to sit back and enjoy knowing that this group of honeybees would not exist were in not for you!
